Drawing a gingerbread man could be just as fun as baking it. That’s why we’ve created a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a gingerbread man, summarized in 9 easy instructions and simple illustrations.

How to Draw A Gingerbread Man

Step 1

Start by drawing a small perfect circle on the top of the paper. This outlines the head of the gingerbread guy.

Complete reference stripes by drawing an intersecting horizontal and vertical stripe on the document.

The vertical stripe above the horizontal stripe marks where you should outline the head. These procedures also confirm that the gingerbread man is sketched in the middle.

Step 2

Draw two connected oblong formations below the outline of the skull. This forms both portions of the gingerbread man.

Remember that there should be a gap between the design of the head and the more inferior body. This leaves enough room for the gingerbread man’s couple of arms, which we will sketch in the next stage.

Step 3

Fill in the space between the gingerbread man’s head and lower body by drawing an oblong shape on each side.

This creates the Gingerbread Man’s left and right arms, completing his limbs.

Ensure your right arm is raised slightly overhead while your left is still at your side. Use the illustrations to make sure you draw the gingerbread man correctly.

Step 4

Polish the Gingerbread Man figure by simply erasing the bottom part of the outline of his head.

This way, it looks like the head is connected directly to the body, which it should be!

Step 5

Draw a Santa hat just above the Gingerbread Man’s head. This adds a design to the gingerbread man and makes it look more festive!

As you can see in the photograph above, we kept the Gingerbread Man’s hat plain and simple. However, add drawings and patterns on the hat for more fun!

Step 6

Draw irregular lines down the center of the gingerbread man’s body, forearms, and legs.

This will create an outline of a hemline, creating it look like the Gingerbread Man is modeling a top and pants.

Similar to the previous step, you can customize the Gingerbread Man’s outfit however you like! Don’t hesitate to add more style and pattern as you like.

Step 7

Draw two circular shapes on the chest portion of the gingerbread man. This will form the buttons of the bodice the gingerbread man is wearing.

Don’t worry if these shapes don’t form a perfect circle! Because these details are made with real glaze, the more irregular they are, the more realistic they look!

Step 8

Continue by drawing two small circular shapes to outline the gingerbread man’s eyes. Next, draw a curved oval shape with another figure parallel to it.

This creates the broad smile of the gingerbread man.

After completing this step, the gingerbread man’s facial features should be complete.

Step 9

Draw a few stripes near the borders of the gingerbread man shape.

This completes the fantasy of depth, creating the Gingerbread Man three-dimensional and lifelike!

That’s it – you’ve successfully drawn a gingerbread man, and now it’s finally time for the most exciting part. In this last step, we will choose the colors and color the gingerbread man.

Since the gingerbread male is a biscuit or cookie, it is mainly light to dark brown.

However, the icing comes in various colors, with red and green being the most common, representing the Christmas holiday.

What colors you use for the gingerbread male is completely up to you! We suggest using better than one color for the frosting to make the gingerbread man look more vibrant and festive!
